From the Book Club Meeting:
I think it’s fair to say we all had fairly high expectations for this much loved classic, however we were all left feeling a little underwhelmed. Most of us struggled to make it to the end due to the lack of pace in the story and characters which we didn’t particularly warm to. Whilst we didn’t rate the ‘romance’ or ‘humour’ particularly highly, we did find it an interesting insight into society and life for the upper classes in the early 1800s and we would be open to trying another Jane Austen novel in the future.
