No One Saw A Thing – Andrea Mara
Two children get on the train. Only one gets off…
No one saw it happen.
Your two little girls jump on the train ahead of you. As you try to join them, the doors slide shut and the train moves away, leaving you behind.
Everyone is lying.
It’s only when you reach the next stop that you truly begin to panic. Because there aren’t two children waiting for you on the platform. There’s only one.
Someone is to blame.
Has your other daughter got lost? Been taken by a passing stranger?
Or perhaps the culprit is closer to home than you think…

Jenn Thornley –
From book club meeting host (Julie Astbury):
Most readers want a book to grab their interest within the first few pages or at least the first few
chapters. This is exactly what we felt this book did. From the start you began to relate to the main
character and as several members said, almost felt the heart wrenching despair felt by her. It was
however pointed out that the act of taking 2 small children and a baby on the London underground
during rush hour felt a little extreme. Although this book started with a missing child it soon develops
into book with so much more to offer the reader.
Whilst the story unfolds with the hunt for Faye, the friendship group begins to unravel, relationships
become strained and the past comes knocking at the door. The plot moves between timelines but as
a group we felt this was essential in giving relevant background information for both character
development and storyline. With multiple red herrings, twist and turns throughout the plot it was a
captivating read that you didn’t want to put down. Most of the group read the book within a few
days.
Overall we found the book to be an easy read; well written; well thought out; a cliffhanger till the
end. Our biggest issue with the whole book being how to pronounce the main characters name !!!!!
Overall score 3.5/5
