From the book club meeting:
This book was a bit like Marmite. Some of our members really enjoyed it, most did not. It raised a number of interesting topics, including class, race, sexuality amongst others. Whilst some of these plots were interesting, the book seemed to lack focus as it tried to address too many at the same time. We did not warm to most of the main characters, although some of the more peripheral characters were more likeable.
