Jenn Thornley –
From the Book Club Meeting:
A fairly inoffensive, easy read which took us back to The Outback in 1950s Australia, however we did agree that the book was about a third longer than it should have been. As stated by one member “A lot of potential, but needed a lot more editing”. It was a pleasant read, but not inspiring and we probably wouldn’t remember much of the story over the next few months. We didn’t warm to most of the characters, but did sympathise with Polly towards the end of the book. A few of the twists were fairly obvious from quite early on, however the story did still unfold in a surprising way.
