A Space for you

HerSpace is designed to give women:

Space to socialise and make new friends in your local area

Space to take time for yourself

Space to have fun

Space to try new and different things

What is HerSpace?

It is said that you lose more friends than you make after the age of 25. Loneliness is on the rise, as social media can lead to less face to face social interaction. Equally, Mind reports that 1 in 6 people report experiencing a common mental health problem (like anxiety and depression) in any given week in England. The HerSpace vision is to help make women feel connected in the community and provide some much needed Space to focus on themselves and their happiness with the aim of making new friends and trying out new things.

My social life has got BETTER AND BETTER

“I have found friends, found new skills and hobbies, found new foods, found I liked cocktails, found some alternative forms of exercise and well being, found interesting facts about Holmes Chapel, found my social life has got BETTER AND BETTER! Thankyou HerSpace.”

Lorraine, 50’s

It has given me the confidence to get out of the house

“I love the fact that HerSpace exists! After moving away from Manchester leaving all my friends and family behind, HerSpace has provided me with means to make new friends and explore new things! After just having a baby, it has given me the confidence to get out of the house and invest in myself, giving me a break from changing bums all day!”

Anna, 30’s

I love getting to try out new things

“I love getting to try out new things, and having a laugh with new people and those who I have met a couple of times. I have had so many giggles in some of the sessions, that I’m still smiling in the days that follow. For some of the more sensitive supportive sessions I have found everyone helpful and caring. I think there’s a great balance and mix for everyone!”

Emma, 40’s

Charlotte - HerSpace

Where it began

Hi there, my name is Charlotte Bell and I am the founder of HerSpace. I moved to Congleton in 2016 and found it quite hard to meet new people. I used to go to yoga classes or the gym, but found I would engage in a fleeting conversation or two, but then never got to the stage of saying ‘let’s go for a coffee?’ – You just don’t want to seem strange!

HerSpace is designed to be flexible and allow you to engage with activities that promote your own psychological wellbeing. Whichever path you choose there will be an emphasis on helping you make new friends in the area.

I hope you like the HerSpace concept and look forward to meeting you in person.
